Can nail-biting (fingers) damage the cuticle, and the way the whole nail grows...?

I ben doing it for a LONG time %26amp; noticed that now i have more width to them.

When I tried fake ones__ mine were to wide to fit properly.Hmm?Can nail-biting (fingers) damage the cuticle, and the way the whole nail grows...?
YES DEFINITELY. If you bite your nails for a long period of time, and bite them right down, yes it will affect the way your nail grows. As you say yourself you can't find fake ones to fit because they are not the standard shape. Can nail-biting (fingers) damage the cuticle, and the way the whole nail grows...?
no, unless you bite really far down and gnaw on your cuticles. but if you just mainly bite the white tips of your nails, like most people do, then i don't think that cause any damage. you could try buying a nasty tasting nail polish and swipe on your nails to prevent yourself from biting them.

answer mine please?

No, biting your nails has no effect on the way your nail grows.

If that were the case, trimming and filing them would alter the growth habits also.

It is a disgusting habit though. In my opinion.
