Is it true that if you push your cuticles back your nails will grow faster?

the cuticles are there to protect your nails. if you cut them back too short you're leaving yourself open to infection. Is it true that if you push your cuticles back your nails will grow faster?
Sorry, but no.Is it true that if you push your cuticles back your nails will grow faster?
Probably a myth
No
That is what i heard
nopee. :)
no
No.

But if you eat well, and moisturize the nail bed, they will be stronger and healthier.
no!
no :S
Yes, you can push your cuticles back every time you dry your hands with a towel.
nope :)
Only from the motion of massaging them back. Pushing them back in general will not do anything, just keep them looking neat. Massaging your cuticles stimulates blood flow which can help them grow a little faster. Just use a little lotion or oil when you do this so they don't dry out.
No; It won't help them grow more quickly, and doing it actually makes the fingernail area more prone to infection. You definitely don't want this! It's very painful and can cause your fingernail to fall off.

The key to remember is that fingernails are like hair; they grow at the same rate regardless of how often or how far back you cut them.
NO way
not the cuticles. the skin that overlaps them, this allows the nail to breathe and therefore grow faster.
yes i do it all the time and my nails are long...i also rub vitamin E oil on them to keep them from breaking...but just push em back don't cut them off
Yes, it is true.
